Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi Auxiliary

The recent raid on the home of Mukaila Lamidi, widely known as Auxiliary by Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has once again brought attention to his notorious reign of terror in Oyo State.

With a long history of violence and criminality, Auxiliary has instilled fear and caused chaos among the citizens of Oyo State. I want to shed light on the recent raid, its implications, and the urgent need for accountability in addressing such issues.

Auxiliary’s criminal legacy has left a trail of bloodshed and fear across Oyo State. His threat towards prominent individuals, including the former Governor of Ekiti, Ayodele Fayose and the Oyo APC Governorship Candidate in the 2023 Election, Senator Teslim Folarin, stand as evidence of Auxiliary’s brazen disregard for anyone and his propensity for violent act.

The assault on Ramon Azeez at the popular Iwo Road gadget hub, Ibadan which eventually resulted in his tragic death, and the brutal murder of Sunday Igboho’s associate (known as “Kokoro”) are just a few examples of the violence perpetrated by Auxiliary.

According to reports by media outlets, during the raid on his residence, one casualty occurred while Auxiliary managed to escape, prompting a pursuit by the police. The operation led to the arrest of 78 members of the Park Management System (PMS), comprising 49 males and 29 females. The discovery of a scary array of weapons, amunitions and other incriminating items further emphasizes the serious threat Auxiliary posed to the state’s security.

Auxiliary’s previous conviction and imprisonment for the murder of Lateef Salako, a former chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) should have clearly indicated his unfit for any public office or position of authority.

However, questions arise regarding the judgment of those who appointed him to chair the disciplinary committee of the PMS. Governor Seyi Makinde owes Senator Teslim Folarin an apology for endorsing Auxiliary as the best candidate for the position and comparing him unfavorably to a distinguished senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria during the gubernatorial debate organised by Splash FM at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan.

It’s also noteworthy that Senator Teslim Folarin was vindicated in calling Auxiliary an ex-convict at the debate, a statement Governor Makinde defended but which Auxiliary, by his recent actions of leading his boys to attack members of the NURTW at the venue of Governor Seyi Makinde’s inauguration, has confirmed that he’s a leopard who cannot change his spots.

It is crucial that accountability and justice prevail when dealing with individuals like Auxiliary in order to ensure the safety and well-being of the people of Oyo State. Special thanks are extended to CP Adebowale Williams psc+ fdc for his unwavering commitment to tackling criminal activities, hooliganism, and the blatant disregard for the rule of law.
