A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and gubernatorial aspirant, Dr Ololade Usman Bakare has joined the progressives families to remember the enduring legacy of late former governor of the state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.

Bakare said 76th posthumous birthday of Senator Ajimobi offers a deep reflection to honour architect of modern Oyo state whose life of service continues to inspire generations.

Bakare said Ajimobi’s vision, courage and commitment to public good remains firmly etched in the history of Oyo State and in the hearts of progressives and entire people he served meritoriously.

“As a tax expert, I particularly remember Senator Ajimobi’s uncommon appreciation for fiscal discipline, transparent governance and sustainable revenue systems. Late Governor Ajimobi understood that sound taxation is not merely about generating revenue for government, but about fairness, accountability and using public resources to uplift the lives of citizens”.

Bakare added that under late Governor Ajimobi, leadership, reforms were guided by equity and long-term development, saying foundations that many subsequent administration builds upon to serve Oyo citizens. Late Senator Ajimobi governed with a rare balance of empathy and fairness.

Bakare extolled Ajimobi for ensuring that policies were people-centred while institutions were strengthened. Ajimobi’s insistence on due process, prudent financial management, and responsible spending set standards that remain relevant in our current economic realities, Bakare added.

“May the soul of Senator Ajimobi continue to rest in peace and may his memory continue to guide our collective quest for good governance”.
