Political crisis extend its tendency in Rivers State on Friday as three more commissioners tendered their resignation letters.

The new set of Commissioners that resigned were; Dr. Jacobson Nbina, Transportation Ministry; Dr. Gift Worlu, Housing Ministry; and Commissioner for Environment, Austen Ben-Chioma.

Their resignations were contained in separate letters sighted by PUNCH correspondent and addressed to the governor through the Secretary to the State Government.

Both Nbina Ben-Chuoma were also commissioners during the immediate past administration of Nyesom Wike.

Their resignation came on the heels of the political crisis that has engulfed the state since the bombing of the State House of Assembly on October 29, 2023.

FreshPage can authoritatively reports that a total number of nine commissioners have resigned their appointment in the face of crisis.

Nbina, who confirmed his resignation to our correspondent on Friday via telephone said, “Yes, I have yesterday (Thursday).”

Asked about the reason for his action, he stated, “The reason is personal to me and my family commitments. I don’t have any issue with the governor. It is very personal.”

Meanwhile, there are reports that their action is preparing the ground for them to officially defect to the All Progressives Congress, though this has not been confirmed.
