The University of Ibadan and MTN, the telecommunications giant are to become partners in the University’s efforts to strengthen its ICT.
To this end, a committee has been set up to identify areas of partnerships to strengthen the University’s ICT without jeopardising the structures already on ground. The Committee has four weeks to submit its reports and recommendations.
This was the outcome of a meeting held between the Management of the University and top officers of MTN.
The meeting enabled UI to state its past grievances against MTN while it also provided an opportunity for MTN to list its limitations.
The expected partnership will improve mobility, data usage and digital operations on campus.
MTN already partners with some other Nigerian Tertiary institutions because it sees education as a major sector of the economy.
The MTN team included Idowu Loye; Osaretin Ogieraikhi; Phillip Sado; Olalekan Omotosho; Joseph Owoeye; and Opeyemi Tokode. MTN Consultants, Dr Ola Adams and Ajah Stanley were also on the team.
