The former senator who represented Oyo South Senatorial District in the 8th National Assembly, Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi has visited and felicitated with Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji Aje Ogungunniso I at his Popoyemoja palace on his 5th coronation anniversary.
Senator Akanbi paid homeage to the palace exactly four years after Kabiyesi bestowed prestigious chieftaincy title of Okanlomo of Ibadanland on him and Yeye Okanlomo to his wife, Alhaja Zikrah Akanbi.
Yeye Okanlomo of Ibadanland, Alhaja Zikrah Akanbi also joined her husband to congratulate the first class Ibadan monarch as he celebrated five years on stool.
Senator Soji Akanbi prayed to God to elongate the life of the monarch on the stool saying Ibadan has recorded landmark achievement during his reign just like the city recorded during the reigns of predecessors. Notably among the achievement were; renovation of Airport, and completion Ibadan-Lagos rail project which is the biggest project in South West where Senator Soji Akanbi played a landmark role.
“Olubadan stool is our joy, it is what I am are proud to showcase anywhere in the world that I am real son of king.
“Come day or night, palace is my home as the son of king, I always receive warm welcome.
“The last time I came to palace, it was for political matter tagged South West Agenda (SWAGA). Although, many were not cleared about it; it is about Yoruba Agenda to present competent son as president come 2023”.
Oba Akanmu Adetunji Aje Ogungunniso I appreciated Okanlomo of Ibadanland, Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi for his timely visitation to commemorate 5th coronation anniversary. The monarch charged Senator Akanbi to always be good ambassador of Ibadanland.
