It was a huge pleasure for immediate past senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District, Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi to receive in the audience of one of the greatest Islamic scholars Yoruba land had produced, the Grand Chief Imam of Ibadan Land, Fadilatu Sheik Abubakir Baki Agbotomokekere.
The Chief Imam was accompanied by Sheik Hasim Atere.
Also part of the visitation team was the Missioners of two Islamic Societies, Alhaji Abdul Qadir Adekilekun Saadallah, the Missioner, Nasrul-Lahi-Faith Society of Nigeria (NASFAT), Oyo State chapter and Dr. Basir Olanrewaju Eleshinmeta, the Missioner, Ansaru-deen, Oyo state.
In the speech made by the Chief Imam, he offered heartfelt prayers for a successful long life and had a brief discharge during Ashri prayers on the importance of having Masjid at one’s residence. In his words, Baba mentioned the relationship between his family and the family of Soji Akanbi; which has been existing for over two centuries, traced back to four generations, his great grandfather and Alfa Agba Oke Koto.
Chief Imam emphasised on the fact that he is super impressed with Soji Akanbi for his respect and commitment towards any religious affairs; adding that, God has actually harkened to the prayers of Baba Isale (Soji’s Dad) in that regard. He further added that, ‘’it is uncommon to see a successful muslim man with a submissive wife and leading a complete Muslim family”.
In his last remark, Baba also referenced the antecedents of Al-Furqhan Hajj and Umrah Services ( Libragold Travels & Tours ltd ) , which he happens to be the Group Executive Chairman and his amazing wife Zhikrah Afolake Aduke Akanbi,the Group Managing Director. He testified that, majority of active Muslims in Nigeria have given numerous positive feedback on hajj and umrah operations by the company.
“I’m indeed grateful for the honour and privilege to have him around, it is a memorable one and I will always cherish it”.
