The lawmaker representing ATIBA, Oyo East, Oyo West Federal Constituency, Honourable Prince Akeem Adeyemi ‘Skimeh’ has facilitated the construction of another road project for his constituents.

The road which was tagged Ori-Awo Phase 2 connects Ifesowapo Ori-Awo, Asipa Kombuko, Awujoola, Olorunsogo communities and Prison yard Abolongo all in Oyo East local government area.

Skimeh who’s also the chairman, House Committee on Agriculture Colleges and Institutions made this known in a statement made available to newsmen, on Friday.

He added that he ensured the road was listed in the 2023 supplementary budget which was presented by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the National Assembly.

While thanking the President, the lawmaker also thanked the speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Tajudeen Abbas and Honourable Bichi, Chairman House Committee on Appropriation.

Our correspondent gathered that construction of the road has started with earth moving equipment already on site working.

The road is the continuation of Ori-Awo Phase 1 which has been completed and commuters have been using it.

While speaking during the flag off, residents of the communities appreciated the lawmaker for ensuring his constituents get the dividend of democracy.

One of the residents, Mr Yusuf Adetayo said: “When we approached him for the first one, he promised us and he fulfilled it. We went to him again that we want the second phase of the road done and today they’re here again to start the construction. We are so happy.”

Other residents who spoke also commended the lawmaker and identified some other projects the lawmaker has brought to the community.
