The Nigerian Union of Pensioners (NUP), South West Zone, honoured Oyo State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun with Excellence & Defender of Pensioners’ Award at its Gala Night and Award Giving Ceremony held on Thursday, November 18, 2021.
The Commissioner, according to the Chairman of the Union, Comrade Waheed Oloyede, “the Honourable Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism in Oyo State, Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun is a lover and defender of Pensioners both inside and outside the state cabinet, everywhere he founds himself. He is proudly our own.
“I congratulate him and other awardees, we carefully selected them all over Nigeria based on their various contributions to the growth of Nigeria Union of Pensioners and their love for the society in general.
“In all, the four set of awardees here today are men of timber and caliber. I congratulate you for entering our Hall of Fame, I can only wish you more enduring successes in life,” Comrade Waheed Oloyede said.
The Commissioner, Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun, in his appreciation speech, dedicated the Award to the people’s Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde for the priority given to the welfare of the pensioners in Oyo State.
The Commissioner also dedicated the Award to all members of the Oyo State Executive Council ably led Governor Seyi Makinde and entire people of the state for their genuine support to the governor.
The awardee further dedicated the award to all the downtrodden pensioners that have suffered throughout the eight years of past administration.
