Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde on Monday visited the palace of Soun Ogbomoso to condole with the family of Oba Jimoh Oyewumi Ajagungbade III.
His visit came barely 30 days after the monarch joined his ancestors.
Governor Makinde was well received by mammoth crowd at the palace. While commiserating with the family, Governor Makinde pray Kabiyesi’s soul continue to rest in peace.
Makinde stated that late monarch would be sorely missed for his contribution to Ogbomoso land, Oyo State and Nigeria as a successful businessman. He described late monarch as a forthright and honest ruler who spoke truth to power.
Makinde announced that his administration is planning to give Kabiyesi a befitting state burial for his 40th day prayers.
