Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, former Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and other eminent Nigerians on Tuesday attended the coronation of Oba Ghandi Afolabi Laoye as the 21st Soun of Ogbomosoland.
At the event held in Ogbomoso Township Stadium, Governor Makinde presented staff of office to the monarch after the approval of state government following his nomination by Kingmakers to Soun’s stool.
Also present at the ceremony were Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, Deputy Governor of Kwara State,Mr. Kayode Alabi, former Minister of Information, Mr Lai Mohammed as well as sons and daughters of Ogbomoso.
Governor Seyi Makinde became the first governor in the history of Oyo State to present Staff of Office to two high ranking traditional rulers in the state within a week.
