The recent publication alleging that the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate for the Ibadan North Federal Constituency bye-election, Hon. (Sir) Wale Murphy, distributed sachet alcohol as campaign souvenirs is nothing more than a desperate and poorly executed propaganda stunt by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and it allies.

First, the story is baseless and unfounded. At no point has Hon. Wale Murphy or the APC campaign team distributed sachet alcohol or any morally questionable item to residents. Our campaign is focused on issues, empowerment, and development — not on cheap, divisive narratives meant to mislead the electorate. This falsehood is part of PDP’s last-minute strategy to smear a candidate they know is loved and trusted by the people of Ibadan North.

Let’s ask the real question — why now? Why is this propaganda emerging just days before the bye-election? The answer is simple: PDP has seen the writing on the wall. From the markets to the youth communities, religious bodies, and professional groups, the momentum is solidly behind Hon. Wale Murphy. No amount of false press releases can erase the massive grassroots acceptance he enjoys.

Hon. Wale Murphy’s Record Speaks for Itself:

– Youth Empowerment: Hundreds of young people have been trained and equipped through his initiatives.

– Community Development: Road repairs, borehole projects, and market support programs have been facilitated under his leadership and influence.

– Moral and Cultural Values: As a respected family man and community leader, he upholds the dignity of Ibadan North’s traditions and values.

– Education and Health: Sponsorship of school programs, scholarships, and free medical outreach for residents.

It is laughable to suggest that a man of such track record would suddenly turn his campaign into a sachet alcohol distribution spree. This is a PDP invention, aimed at distracting voters from their own failures in governance and representation.

The people of Ibadan North know Hon. (Sir) Wale Murphy personally. They have seen his work, felt his impact, and heard his vision for the future. On Saturday, August 16, 2025, they will vote based on truth, performance, and character — not on beer-parlour gossip dressed up as news.

We challenge PDP and their sponsored blogs to produce evidence, not hearsay. Until then, their noise remains a failed attempt to stop the unstoppable.

The truth is clear: Hon. (Sir) Wale Murphy is the man of the people, the people’s voice, and the people’s choice. Ibadan North will speak at the ballot box — and it will be a resounding victory for APC.
