The crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP might have subsided following the resignation of Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal as the Chairman of Governors’ Forum of the party, thereby give way for Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde to become the Chairman of Governors’ Forum of the party.

The development came into limelight hours after Governor Makinde met presidential candidate of the party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to discuss grey issues facing the progress of the party ahead of 2023 general elections.

FRESHPAGE.COM.NG recalled that southern governors of the party had insisted the resignation of National Chairman of the party, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu as a way of balancing political structure of the party between the north and south.

The southern governors insisted that the National Chairman, BoT, Chairman Governors Forum cannot come from the north.

The shakeup in the National Working Committee of the party also produced former senate president Adolphus Wabara as the Chairman of Board of Trustees as Walid Jubril resigned his position.

Walid Jubril is now the Political Adviser to the National Chairman of the party.
