The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Oyo North Senatorial District, Senator Fatai Buhari has defeated Hon. Shina Peller of Accord Party despite his Oke-Ogun Lokan mantra.
According to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) results announced, Senator Fatai Buhari polled a total number 90,078 to defeat his top contender, Mr. Akinwole Wolekanle of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 77,034 while Hon. Shina Peller came distant third with a total number of 54,732 votes.

Hon. Mulikat Akande of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) came forth with total number of 33,940 votes.
Senator Buhari became the highest ranking senator from the South West with his third term win the Red Chamber.
