The Oyo State gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections, Mr. Tawfiq Akinwale has dumped the party and join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Mr. Akinwale made the discussion in a press statement signed and made available to journalists on Sunday. According to Akinwale his decision is to advance vision of progress in the state and Nigeria as a whole.
Following a resolute campaign under the Labour Party (LP) in the March 2023 Governorship elections in Oyo State, Tawfiq Tayo Akinwale, a dedicated advocate for progress and good governance, has made the decision to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This move comes after a thorough evaluation of the current political landscape, where it became evident that LP’s leadership lacked the necessary vision, direction, and cohesion to bring about the much-needed transformation in Oyo State and by extension Nigeria.
