The Baameko of Ibadanland and President of the Saheed Oladele Support Foundation (SOSF), Chief Saheed Oladele, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, following the passing of his mother, Mama Lydia Yilwatda, who died at the age of 83 after a brief illness.
In a statement issued on Tuesday through his media office, Chief Oladele urged Prof. Yilwatda and his family to take solace in the fact that Mama Lydia lived an exemplary life anchored on faith, service, and compassion.
He described the late matriarch as “a woman of uncommon strength and rare virtue, whose life was defined by sacrifice, love, and devotion to God and humanity.”
According to him, Mama Lydia’s legacy of kindness, tolerance, and wisdom will remain a source of inspiration not only to her children and extended family but also to many whose lives she touched.

Chief Oladele noted that her passing has created a significant void, particularly at a time when her prayers and counsel would have been most valuable to her son, the APC National Chairman.
“As a devout Christian, Mama was a beacon of light, a mentor, and a role model to countless women,” the Baameko of Ibadan said. “Her transition, though painful, should be seen as a glorious exit of a fulfilled matriarch who left behind enduring values worthy of emulation.”
He prayed for God’s comfort and strength for the Yilwatda family and the grace to uphold Mama Lydia’s legacy of godliness, service, and love.
