Oyo State Government through Commissioner for Public Works and Transport, Prof. Daud Sangodoyin has revealed likely date for the opening of ongoing construction of Olodo Bridge along Iwo-Ibadan road.
Prof. Sangodoyin disclosed that the bridge will be opened for traffic by 30th April, 2024.
He made this known in an interview he granted Nigerian Tribune.

FRESHPAGE.COM.NG recalls that the road becomes impassable July 2023 after heavy downpour washed away the bridge thereby making it an herculean task for road users to reach their destinations.

The Commissioner while inspecting the project last Sunday said the government has completed casting of the beam. He said by the end March, all the slabs and what they have casted would have been fixed while test run on the bridge to ascertain durability of the asphalt will take place mid-April.
While speaking on the challenges faced so far, Prof. Sangodoyin said weather condition, soil type and shortage of equipment among others constitute delay in smooth delivery of the project.
