Oyo State Government has disbursed the sum of one billion naira to 436 retired Primary School Teachers and Local Government Staff across the State, as payment of gratuities.
The gratuity cheques were disbursed to the beneficiaries by the Chairman of the Local Government Staff Pensions Board, Prince Adebayo Adeyemi.
Prince Adeyemi said 8.9 billion naira has so far been disbursed as gratuities to retired Primary School Teachers and Local Government Staff by the Governor Makinde-led administration.
Speaking with BCOS Reporter, the Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Labour Matters, Comrade Titilola- Sodo and the Secretary of the Local Government Staff Pensions Board, Mrs Ayodele Busari lauded Governor Makinde for his commitment to the welfare of workers and pensioners.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke with BCOS News expressed appreciation to Governor Makinde-led administration for giving priority to the wellbeing of pensioners.
