Oyo State governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has expressed grief over the death of three traditional rulers from Oriire Local Government Area state, in a road accident that happened on Friday.
The traditional rulers; Olodogbo of Odogbo, Onibowula of Bowula and Alayetoro of Ayetoro, were said to be on their way to a social function when the car conveying them had a head on collision with a truck.
Governor Makinde, who described the news of the royal fathers’ demise as shocking, expressed condolences to their immediate families, the people of Oriire Local Government and Ogbomoso land as well as the Council of Obas and Chiefs in the state.
He prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased, while also praying that God would grant their immediate families, their subjects and the state as a whole the fortitude to bear the loss.
The governor said: “It is a very sad and saddening development. We can only pray that the Almighty God will grant repose to their souls and grant their families, their subjects and the whole state the fortitude to bear the loss.”
