Oyo State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Barr Temilolu Nurudeen Ashamu has facilitated reconstruction of basketball court at St Bernadine Secondary School, Oyo.
The commissioning and handing over of the project was performed by Barr Ashamu on Friday.
The purpose of the project is to enable talent discovery of secondary school students who are lovers of basketball.
According to the Commissioner, the project affirmed undiluted love and commitment administration of Governor Seyi Makinde has for sports and youth development in the state.
The project was donated by Samit Construction Works. The company did the flooring and painting of the basketball court, erecting iron pole with basket net and purchase of basketball.
Present at the commissioning of the project were principal and vice principal of benefiting school, Mrs Roseline Olayanju and Mr S.A Busari. The National President of the St Bernadine Old Students Association, Mr Bayo Adelakun was also in attendance.
Other dignitaries present at the commissioning of the project were Chairman, Samit Construction Works, Mr Ayo Ehindero, PDP House of Assembly candidate for Oyo East, Oyo West LGAs, Hon. Olorunpoto Rahman Cephas, Hon. Sharafadeen Ayinde Oiler and party stalwarts.
