In line with OmiTunTun 2.0 agenda and as part of the efforts to improve library services in Oyo State, the Chairman, Oyo State Library Board, Hon.Yemi Taiwo paid courtesy visit to the Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Barr. Seun Ashamu.
The Chairman of the Oyo State Library Board, Hon. Yemi Taiwo was at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources building to solicit support of Barr Ashamu for the installation of solar lights to illuminate premises of the State Library Board Headquarters Complex.

While revealing the motives for the request, Hon. Taiwo said lighting up the premises of the Library will bar miscreants from lurking around.
Hon. Taiwo explained further that the installation of solar lights would not only enhance security within the library but also reduce the cost of electricity bills.
In his remarks, Barr. Seun Ashamu, the Commissioner for Energy, pledged his support for the project and promised to work with the Library Board to ensure that the installation is carried out as soon as possible.
He also commended the Library Board for their efforts in promoting literacy and education in Oyo State. He equally gave insights on how he perceived the Library Board couldn’t catch the younger ones young.

The visit by the Chairman of the Library Board is part of a series of efforts by the board to improve library services in the State.
The Board has also embarked on a campaign to increase public awareness about the importance of libraries and their role in promoting education and literacy.
