Barely a week after Governor Seyi Makinde presented staff and instruments of office to newly nominated Alaafin of Oyo, Prince Abimbola Owoade, official date for coronation has emerged.
According to sources obtained by The Sun Newspaper, Friday, April 4, 2025 has been fixed for the coronation of 46th Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade.

FRESHPAGE reports that Governor Makinde approved nomination of Prince Abimbola Owoade on Friday, January 10, 2025 through a new selection process after Prince Lukman Gbadegesin whose name was submitted by OyoMesi failed to get approval of the government over alleged corruption of among members of OyoMesi.
