The Distinguished Senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, Senator Yunus Akintunde, has commenced a special retreat and intensive training programme for his aides and selected constituents, with a strong emphasis on current trends in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

The one-week capacity-building programme began with a three-day virtual training session and will culminate in a comprehensive physical, hands-on training focused on practical skill acquisition. The initiative is designed to enhance the participants’ competence for improved service delivery in the discharge of their official responsibilities, as well as in their personal development.
The training is being facilitated by Senator Yunus Akintunde in strategic partnership with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), and Federal Ministry of Communication, Innovation and Digital Economy, serving as professional consulting partners to ensure high-quality content delivery and alignment with global best practices.
Aides and other beneficiary participants from the the various Zones, have expressed deep appreciation to Senator Akintunde for providing the opportunity to strengthen their capacity, particularly in emerging technology applications, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other digital tools essential for effective public service.
In a statement made available to the media through Kunle Olatunji, Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Senator Yunus Akintunde, it was disclosed that the programme holding simultaneously in the three zones, ensuring that the entire Senatorial District benefits from the training initiative.
Senator Akintunde remains deeply committed to human capacity development as a critical pillar of sustainable growth and effective representation. This initiative aligns with his shared-value leadership philosophy and is in consonance with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
