The gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Oyo State ahead of the 2027 general elections and Baàmèkó of Ibadanland, Oloye Saheed Oladele, has escaped an assassination attempt while returning from a political meeting in Lagos.
According to a statement issued on Sunday, December 28, by Maroof Asudemade, Director of Media and Publicity for the Saheed Oladele Support Foundation, the incident occurred when Oladele’s entourage was attacked, and his vehicle was reportedly hit by a projectile.
The statement noted that the attack might be linked to Oladele’s growing popularity and increasing acceptance among the Oyo State electorate, which it said has become a threat to those who had previously underrated him.
