Leaders of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Oke Ogun have denied media reports making it rounds that they endorsed Hon Tajudeen Abiodun a.k.a Were as Senatorial Candidate of the party for the 2027 general elections.
The leaders who spoke through Alhaji Ahmed Ayinla, Olorunsogo Local Government Area, Alhaji Washington Agbaje of Irepo Local Government Area and Hon Lord Balogun from Orelope Local Government Area who attended the meeting frowned at the misrepresentation of what transpired at the meeting Hon Kareem had with stakeholders of the party in Igbeti today.

” To start with, the meeting was not with Oke-Ogun leaders. It was a meeting with stakeholders from Irepo, Olorunsogo, and Orelope local government councils, making only three of the 10 local government areas in Oke Ogun zone. It is misleading to refer to the meeting as an Oke-Ogun meeting.
”Furthermore, Hon Kareem told stakeholders of the three councils of his ambition to contest the senatorial ticket of the APC for the 2027 elections. The speakers at the meeting took turns to counsel him that they would support whoever the party presents and that if it happens that he is not the chosen candidate, he should not decamp from the party. There was nowhere he was endorsed as candidate of the party.

”We advise candidates not to be misrepresenting the proceedings of their consultations with party leaders and stakeholders. Otherwise, they would discourage members from attending such meetings.
”For emphasis and clearance of any doubt, there was no where Hon. Tajudeen was endorsed as Senatorial candidate at the meeting he held with us today”.
