I came across two interesting News reports this evening and I believe they are worthy of attention.

First, the Ogbomosho zone of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP is reported to have said that the PDP is not intimidated by what it called Oyo APC’s ” Ankara Carnival”.

PDP

According to the story, the PDP in Ogbomosho zone claims that the APC brought rented crowds to Ogbomosho for its Renewed Hope Federal Constituency Tour which took place in the ancient City on Monday.

I must admit that the program, which I also attended was indeed colorful and it recorded a very large turn out of Party faithfuls.

After reading the piece, I saw that there is actually no reason to argue with the PDP in Ogbomosho.

The dead can never be intimidated.

As things stand today, the PDP is practically dead, to the extent that even Governor Seyi Makinde is being rumored to be considering defecting to the ADC.

What I don’t seem to get however is why the PDP in Ogbomosho would still be dissipating energy on a dead Party.

I think those who sponsored the News report should rather be storing up energy with which they would advertise their new party to the people of Oyo state.

I sympathize with them. It is not easy to be politically displaced and that would lead me to the second report.

I read the statements credited to a former appointee of Governor Seyi Makinde, Hon. Bolanle Sarumi aka BASA.

According to the report, Hon. Sarumi said it is being rumored that Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state and Bala Mohammed of Bauchi are both working underneath to join the ADC.

She said if Governor Makinde chooses to join the ADC, he is welcome but that she and other members who are already in the ADC would not surrender the party structures to him.

Honestly, I pity Hon. Sarumi, Oyo ADC and the National Leadership of the party if eventually they accept Governor Makinde into their folds.

I can conveniently say that he would not berth in their party without bringing along the baggages of betrayal, ego and confusion.

Naturally, some of us would have questions for Governor Makinde if he eventually decides to join the ADC.

We would love to ask him why he is going back to his vomit and whether he has convinced hunger to follow him to his new abode.

I remember that he and others were the first to call the ADC unprintable names when its choice as the coalition platform was announced.

They bragged that they had what it takes to reorganize the PDP to become a vibrant opposition party in Nigeria.

Now, the PDP is ruined to the extent that even they themselves are now being rumored to be contemplating going to the ADC.

What a shame!

Assuming the rumors are correct, does the ADC has what it takes to accommodate and contain Governor Makinde’s toxic tendencies?

How will Governor Makinde himself feel like to found himself in the same boat with Atiku Abubakar whom he and the G-5 denigrated so much in 2023?

If truly Governor Seyi Makinde is contemplating going to the ADC, then, he must definitely be desperate.

I have been thinking about why he is not bold enough to join one of the mushroom political party and ‘ bring life’ to it.

I thought his admirers said he is the ‘ poster Boy’ of the G-5?

What has changed?

I thought they claimed that he has street credibility?

Where is the credibility now?

Governor Makinde had been led on a dance of the doomed elephant. ( A o merin joba).

My advice for the ADC is simple, run, for the Undertaker approaches.

Those who successfully destroyed the PDP will require little efforts to pull down the ADC.

How did Governor Makinde come to this very complicated point?

Oh! How I feel for him, the Principal Chief Advocate for the hungry people of Nigeria.

Sola Abegunde.
