The National Population Commission (NPC) has announced date for the much anticipated 2023 census.

The Commission through its Chairman, Nasir Ika Kwarra said the exercise would hold between March 29 and April 1, 2023.

Kwarra stressed that the Commission is determined to conduct credible population census with the support of modern technology.

The Chairman met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Friday and assured him that Commission would make it hitch-free exercise that devoid of manipulation.

While speaking State House correspondents, Kwarra said that the Commission would be making use of cutting-edge technology among are Global Positioning System (GPS), satellite images. He remarked that every building in the country had already been coded while demarcation and enumeration of areas had been completed.

Speaking on the spate of insecurity, Kwarra said the was optimistic that exercise would go on well in the affected areas as well.
