Amb. (Dr) Gbenga Clement Obilade, the founder of a non-governmental organization (NGO), Gbenga Obilade’s Foundation, has organised a special Ileya party that draw community leaders, religious leaders and stakeholders together.
The event which held at the Akinjole Community field in Egbeda Local Government also witnessed presentation of laptops to deserving students in a bid to promote education and digital literacy. The party brought together over 500 community members, stakeholders, religious leaders and students for a day filled with celebration, empowerment and hope.
The founder of the foundation, who is also Bobagunwa of Akinjole community welcomes everyone to the Eid-el-Kabir party. He felicitated Muslim community and urged them to continue live in peace and unity in their respective host communities.
According to Amb. (Dr) Obilade; “Eid-el-Kabir is a time of sacrifice and giving. At Gbenga Obilade’s Foundation, we want everyone in Egbeda, Ona-Ara LGAs and Oyo State as a whole to know they are not forgotten and that their dreams are valid”. He appreciated every team members of the foundation, donors and volunteers.
Chief Imam, Alakia Community, Alhaji AbdulWasiu offered prayer for Oil and Gas expert, Dr Obilade for celebrating with Muslims, associating with young and old in Ibadan.Alhaji AbdulWasiu, who is also Secretary to the League of Imam in Egbeda Local Government Area, extolled the virtues of the foundation in equipping youth with necessary vocational skills to thrive and empowering widows among others.
Francis Kenneth Abiola, one of the beneficiaries of the laptop and a student of Babalola College of Health Technology, Kwara State, expressed his gratitude to Gbenga Obilade’s Foundation. He thanked the founder for fulfilling his promises and prayed that God will continue to elevate him.
Mustapha Khalid, a secondary school leaver, after attending the ICT also benefitted from the laptop, while the foundation sponsored Mr Samuel Israel Oluwadamilola with Barbing Saloon training and Miss Adegbola Shukrat in hairdressing.
The Eid-il-Adha party were attended by former national deputy youth leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Hon. Afeez Bolaji Repete, APC Party Chairman Hon. Prince Ogundipe and former LG Chairmen in Ona-Ara, Hon. Ismaila Akanni Ere and Hon. Ogundele.
Also in attendance were; CAN Chiarman, Inukan FCDA, Pastor Folarin, Chief Akanmu Akeem, Baale Akinjole community, High Chief Rafiu Adepoju, Baale Oluwo, High Chief Muniru Ogungbade, Baale Ogungbade, High Chief Lateef Alade, Baale Afijagba, High Chief Rasaq Ajenikoko, Baale Elerinmi among others.
