A non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Oyo town, Bloom Entrepreneurship Leadership and Advocacy Centre (BELAC) on Thursday, 1st February, distributed fifty-five (55) free Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) forms organized by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to brilliant but indigent candidates.
Beneficiaries of the free JAMB forms were selected from the four LGAs; Atiba, Oyo East, Oyo West and Afijio made up Oyo Federal Constituency.
According to founder of the foundation, Agboola Afees, while speaking with FreshPage said no fewer than one hundred and nineteen (119) applicants applied for the free JAMB forms.

While revealing the process it takes and requirements to benefit from the scheme for students, Agboola said beneficiaries were restricted to four LGAs made up of Oyo Federal Constituency. He spoke further considerations were given to applicants who finished secondary with minimum O’level results for JAMB. He said students in SS 3 with sound academic record in SS 2 were considered for the initiative.

“In all, a beneficiary must be brilliant and be an indigent or vulnerable student before we consider him or her. Thorough screening were done by amazing team of BELAC to ensure that the best benefitted from the initiative”.
Agboola while answering questions about how the foundation will support those that eventually meet up with cut off marks in their respective courses said the foundation will do everything possible to give scholarship to top three candidates while talks is ongoing to get sponsors for as many students as possible.
Agboola said the foundation spent close to five hundred thousand naira (N500,000) for the project.

He expressed optimism that the foundation is planning to expand its coverage and sponsor minimum of 100 students for JAMB in the subsequent years.
Agboola said the gesture was in honour of his parents, late Mrs Sulifat Agboola and Alhaji Biliaminu Agboola.
