Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has finally parted ways with the People’s Democratic Party, PDP following a letter of resignation addressed to Hon. Saka Kamolideen Alamu, Chairman, Ward 2 Sagba/Abogunde, Ede North LGA of the state.
Adeleke’s resignation letter dated November 4, 2025, the letter came after months of speculation that he was romancing with ruling All Progressives Congress, APC following meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with his elder brother, Deji Adeleke in Bourdillon, Lagos.
FreshPage gathered that APC-bloc in Osun State prevented Adeleke from joining the party even when the president’s body language was otherwise. The APC cited the crisis, killing and humiliation their members faced during the local government imbroglio in the state.

Governor Adeleke cited the national crisis PDP battling as the reason for his resignation from the party. Adeleke who boycotted Ibadan 2025 National Convention of PDP that produced Senator Tanimu Turaki as the National Chairman.
“Due to the current crisis of the national leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), I hereby resign my membership of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP with immediate effect.

“I thank the People’s Democratic Party for the opportunities given to me for my elections as Senator (represented Osun West) and a Governor of Osun State under the People’s Democratic Party”.
