Dr. Wasiu Adewale Olatunbosun, the Honourable Commissioner, Oyo State Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism.
Born on January 11,1964, to the family of late Alhaji Rauf Olatunbosun of Ibikunle Dynasty Ayeye, Ibadan.
Wasiu Adewale Olatunbosun is a dogged politician, educationist and forthright administrator from Ibadan North West Local Government, Oyo State. A former Lecturer at the famous Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye Ogun state.
Young Olatunbosun commenced his educational career with post-primary education career at Olivet Baptist High School, Oyo, where he earned his West African School Certificate with good grades.
He thereafter proceeded to the foremost University of Ibadan where he earned his Bachelor Degree in Education/Language Arts.
Young Adewale Olatunbosun’s thirst to further his educational pursuit led him back to UI where he finished his M.A in Communication and Language Arts. He did not stop at that, as the cerebral lover of Education also did his PGD and M.Sc in Mass Communication, at the University of Lagos, Akoka.
Afterwards, Mr. Wasiu Olatunbosun got his hard-earned Ph.D from Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State.
As a Journalist, Dr. Olatunbosun cut his professional teeth, at the indigenous broadcasting station of Oyo State, Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State, where he worked as the Assistant News Editor from 1995-1996.
In 1997, his unrelenting quest to impact knowledge led him to University of Ibadan, where he worked as an Associate Lecturer, General Examination Centre. In 1999, he became an Assistant Information Officer, with Ibadan South West Local Government.
He returned to Teaching career, at the Polytechnic Ibadan in 2003, where he groomed many of today’s Journalists at the Department of Mass Communication.
Dr. Olatunbosun’s Political career, took off at Ibadan North West Local Government, when he got elected as the Councillor representing Ward 5.
His passion for change and development of the Nigeria Political scenery has led him to be an active participant in the Political trajectory in Oyo State. He was appointed as the Caretaker Chairman, Ibadan North West Local Government in 2011. At that time, till 2016, Olatunbosun embarked on several grassroot projects that has endeared him to politic stalwarts and stakeholders at the local government.
His stunts in the political scene, attracted the present Governor of Oyo State to him, who after winning the guber-election in 2019, appointed him as the Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism in Oyo State.
As a Commissioner, Dr. Olatunbosun embarked on many transformative projects at the Ministry of Information. Chief among them, is the establishment of Aloore Online radio. A proud feat, you would say!
At Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, he served as an Assistant Lecturer where he taught Undergraduate courses, as well as post graduate courses.
He is a renowned Facilitator of many Political jingles and campaigns that led to the victory of his Principals in Oyo State.
He has to his credit, many papers and trained at several seminars.
Dr. Olatunbosun has participated in many Field Work and Sponsored Researches. He has served in numerous capacities in various Professional Bodies and Associations and has received an array of awards.
Dr. Olatunbosun also has to his credit many academic publications and papers in reputable and international journals. He is happily married with children.
