Hundreds of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders, party members and stakeholders on Friday converged at the Campaign Office of former House of Representatives member, Hon. Moruf Akinwande to endorse the candidacy of Hon. Peter Olusola Oluokun as the best candidate for Oyo East Local Government Chairmanship elections.
The decision of the elders in the party was borne out of their decision to have highly cerebral and a man of integrity that will run the affairs of the local government with the fear of God and deliver dividend of democracy to grassroots people since the Local Government is the closest to people out of the three tiers of government.
The elated party leaders, members and critical stakeholders across all wards in the LG expressed their satisfaction in the choice of Hon. Peter Olusola Oluokun.

Hon. Oluokun enjoyed the overwhelming support of all leaders at Ajagba, the venue of the meeting. Some of the leaders who spoke at the event unanimously agreed that after their wide consultation, they have decided to settle with Hon. Olusola Oluokun and no other candidate.

Present at the event were; Hon Moruf Akinwande, former House of Representatives member , leader Siju Salam pioneer PDP party chairman, Barrister Mojisola Adeyemi, Baba Oleojeki, Alhaji Ismaila, Leader Fariogun Leader Ojediran Happiness, Hon Tirimisiyu former Chairman Oyo East Local Government, Alhaji Bili Onifade, Alhaji Rashidi Agba, former PDP Secretary, Imam Saka, Hon sekoni, Hon okunade Idowu, Leader of the House Oyo East Local Gvernment Legislative Council, Hon WASPA councilor ward 8, Hon Yinka Saheed, councilor ward 2, Hon shakolat councilor ward 7, and Hon Akinkunmi counsellor ward 6.
The local EXCOs were led by the Vice Chairman. Mr Adekunle Ejakabata, Mr Azeez Yinus Treasure, Barr Adedigba Legal Adviser, Mrs Adigun Mariam Financial Secretary, Mrs Jimoh Simbiat Women Leader, Alh Bolaji Muideen Ex-officio, Mr Kofoworola Musa P.R.O and Mr Lukuman Kolade Chairman, representative of all the ward chairmen was accompanied by Hon. Adeyemi Tella.

The former Chairman of PDP in the LG, Mr. Ganiyu Mojeed, the Campaign DG, Governor Seyi Makinde OmiTuntun 2.0, Hon. Gatty, the Party Manager, Oyo East Local Government, Alhaji Wale Fadaka were all in attendance.
