Barrister Seun Ashamu, Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources in Oyo State, has congratulated all the newly elected chairmen, their vice, forty (40) Councilors for their Victory at the just concluded LG poll.
FRESHPAGE reports that local government elections held on Saturday, 27th of April.
The election which afforded main opposition and other political parties to participate received commendations in terms of preparedness from key figures including Aare Isiaka Olagunju (SAN), Chairman of OYSIEC, and Adebola Hamzat, the State Commissioner of Police, who commended the process as credible, transparent and devoid of violence.
The commissioner in a statement made available to FRESHPAGE congratulated Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem, Chairman-elect for Atiba LG, Hon. Prince Akeem Salam Babatunde Olukitibi, Chairman-elect for Oyo West LG, Hon. Oluokun Peter Olusola, Chairman-elect for Oyo East LG and Hon. Olufemi Aikomo, Chairman-elect for Afijio LG along with all vice chairman and Councilorship-elect within Oyo federal constituency.
Barrister Ashamu described the commitment of all elected chairmen and others as a long walk landslide victory recorded at the poll.
He remarked their victory as well-deserved, describing their campaign as a people oriented that will strengthen democratic governance at grassroots and ensure its dividends well circulated.

Ashamu called on elected chairmen to kick off with agenda they have development at grassroots stressing that they are closer to the people and their positive impact must be felt by and sundry.
“I want to employ all of you to take a cue from His Excellency’s style of governance. Embracing this will key into vision of sustainable development we are trying to build in Oyo State and make Oyo investment destinations for foreign investors. Once, the control of our grassroots is in safe hand, be rest assured that foreign investors will come.
He expressed unwavering gratitude to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde for ensuring hitch-free election and peaceful conduct of the electorate, during and after the exercise.
While describing the local government as important tier, Ashamu charged the newly elected officials to provide viable leadership impacts that will answer the yearnings at the grassroots level.
”I felicitate with you and I assured you a progressive partnership, as the mandate given to you remains a call to serve with dignity and diligence”.
