Lam-Adesina, who represented the constituency between 2015 and 2019, made this charge in his Lent and Ramadan joint message.

According to the former commissioner for youth and sports as well as that of industry, science and technology, “More than before, Nigeria and its leaders need our prayers and support. We are just completing election. We have seen it greatly divide us along religious and ethnic lines which, to me, is a very dangerous route. We need to quickly pray to God to give us the wisdom to be able to unite ourselves. We need to get that done quickly. So that is why I said our leaders need prayers so as to be well guided.

”While I have no doubt that the incoming administration of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu would move swiftly to address the issue, he needs our prayers. Like he also has said, the healing period mustn’t be delayed. So I like to enjoin our Muslim and Christian brethren to remember Nigeria and its leader in this Holy Months. We should pray fervently. We should seek God’s face. We should forget whatever might have happened during elections and pray for the country. We don’t have any other country to call ours than Nigeria. Even if we travel to the best of places across the globe, home is home.

“While I congratulate our Christian and Muslim brethren for the grace to be part of this Holy Months, I urge them not to forget this country in their prayers. I pray all the rewards of Ramadan and Lent will not elude us all,” the youthful politician whose election would be concluded on 15th April, 2023 said.
