The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has awarded a contract with N1.1Billion for the construction of a 250-seater Virtual Examination Centre (VEC) at Ladoke Akintola University,Ogbomoso,Iseyin Campus.

Award of the contract came barely days as the Commission set for the inauguration of N1Billion IT Hub it built at the University of Ibadan, Ibadan.

FreshPage gathered that the commissioning of the IT Hub will hold before May 29, 2023.

The information on the award of the contract for the construction of the 250-seater Virtual Examination Centre (VEC) was contained in a letter addressed to the Vice Chancellor of LAUTECH by the NCC signalling of the process of commencement of the construction.

The features of the Virtual Examination Centre to be constructed are:Building Infrastructure to accommodate 250 Workstations (1Unit), 250 Computers and Furniture (250 PCs and 250 Computer Desk and Chairs), Server Infrastructures (1Unit), Printers and scanners (1Each), Power peripherals, Air Conditioners (9 Unit ACs), 200KVA Generator (1Unit), VSAT Equipment (1Unit), Local Area Networks (LAN), and Vsat Equipment and one-year bandwidth subscription for internet access

The duration of construction is to be completed between six to nine months.
