Oyo State Government under the Governor Seyi Makinde led administration has become sole owner of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso.
The University was jointly owned and run by Oyo and Osun states ever since Osun was carved out from Oyo in 1991.
The Executive Secretary
of the National Universities Commission (NUC) Professor Abubakar Rasheed affirmed the ownership during the media briefing held in Abuja.
According to Professor Rasheed, the College of Health Sciences in Osogbo has also been ceded to the Osun State government.
“Both Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Adegboyega Oyetola signed a memorandum of Agreement to the development.”
The NUC boss expressed optimism that the new arrangement would restore peace to LAUTECH.
