The crisis rocking the Oyo State chapter of the Accord took another dimension as the National Chairman of the party, Hon. Muhammad Nalado announced the dissolution of the Oyo State Executives led by Hon. Prince Kolade Ojo.
The sacking came hours after the state’s chapter of the party briefed journalists that it would used the party’s structure to support the candidacy of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Engr Seyi Makinde at the detriment of Chief Adebayo AbdulWaheed Adelabu, gubernatorial candidate of the party.
In a letter signed and addressed to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Nalado said the Oyo State Executives have been dissolved with immediate effect.
He cited anti-party activities and gross misconduct as the factors responsible for the dissolution of the state’s executives. Nalado affirmed that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party at its emergency meeting approved the appointment of Caretaker Committee led by Alhaji Isiaka Salami (Caretaker Chairman), Mr Bashiru Ayobami (Secretary), Hon. Fatai Salawu (Member), Mrs Bimpe Martins (Member) and Hon. Ayodele Oyajide (Member).
