Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has forwarded the list of nominees as members of the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) to Oyo State House of Assembly.
The letter seeking the approval of the nominees was read today at the Plenary by the Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Debo Ogundoyin.
The Speaker of the House while speaking, commends the State governor for taking a bold step in constituting OYSIEC members that will conduct council election in order to bring the dividends of democracy to the people at the grassroots.
Ogundoyi said, he was glad that after a prolong litigations with the State government in which both parties have agreed to sheathe their sword by reaching a compromise that will allow a smooth conduct of new election in order to bring governance more closer to the people.
The Speaker, while reading the letter to honourable colleagues asked all the nominees to send at least 50 copies of their CVs and other credentials for proper scrutiny before approval.
