The newly constituted Governing Council of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso ihas appointed Prof. Mojeed O. Liasu as the acting Vice-Chancellor of the institution.
This is coming after the step-aside order to the ousted Vice-Chancellor of Ladoke Akinola University of Technology Ogbomoso by the Oyo State Government.
This is contained in a decision extract of the 138th and Inaugural meeting of the 10th governing council held on Wednesday in the Council Chamber of the institution’s Senate Building.
The decision extract was signed by the institution’s registrar, Dr. K.A. Ogunleye.
Prof. Liasu, until his appointment was the deputy vice Chancellor of the institution.
His appointment takes effects from Friday, 16th of April 2021.
The acting VC is a professor of Plant Physiology Department of Pure and Applied Biology in LAUTECH.
Recall that Governor Makinde, last Friday, directed that the Vice-Chancellor Prof Michael Ologunde step aside until further notice. The decision was communicated in a letter through the Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Barr. Olasunkanmi Olaleye.
The VC was also directed to hand over forthwith to the next principal officer in rank in order to ensure uninterrupted flow of normal activities of the institution.
