One of the first class monarchs in Yoruba land, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III has joined his Ancestors.

The monarch was said have had his last breath at Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti on Friday night.

The remains of the revered traditional monarch was received at Idi-Igba, Oyo town by his first son, Prince ‘Tunde and other siblings.

Bashorun of Oyo, High Chief Yusuf Akinade Ayoola, head of Oyomesi is expected to be in charge of traditional affairs pending the appointment of new Alaafin.

FreshPage recalls Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Oyewumi died December 12, 2021 while Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji Ajé Ogungunniso I joined his ancestors in January 2, 2022. The exit of Iku Babayeye makes it three prominent monarchs to bid world farewell in Oyo State within five months.

High Chief Ayoola is expected to brief Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde formally about the exit of Alaafin of Oyo.
