The 11th Vice Chancellor, University of Ibadan and immediate past Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Folorunsho Adewole has been decorated with prestigious Japanese award tagged ‘Order of Rising Star, Gold and Silver Star of Japan’.
Prof. Adewole was recognized with the award on Tuesday in Abuja based on his performance as former Minister of Health who promoted bilateral tie between Japan and Nigeria.
The Japanese ambassador to Nigeria, Kazuyoshi Matsunaga decorated Ilesha born professor of obstetrics and gynaecology. The event coincided with 62nd birthday of Emperor of Japan, His Majesty, Emperor Nahurito.
The Provost, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, Prof. Olayinka Omigbodun noted that the award was the 2020 Spring Conferment which was delayed due to covid-19 ravaging the world.
She congratulated the awardee on behalf of staff, students and Alumni of the College of Medicine, UI.
