The Vice Chancellor, Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, Prof. Olanrewaju Olaniyan has confirmed that a total number of 47,623 Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) graduates were produced by Emmanuel Alayande College of Education before its upgrade to University status from 2005/2006 academic session to 2024/2025 academic session spanning 21 years.
Prof. Olaniyan made the revelation during at a Press Conference held at the Senate Chamber of the University as part of the activities lined up for the 3rd Foundation Day and Convocation Ceremonies for the NCE graduates.
The VC noted that the last Convocation held in the school in 2007 didn’t captured those that graduated in 2005 and 2006. The don said the Convocation Ceremony will mark the perfect transition from College of Education to University of Education.

‘’Some people may say, why do we need to do convocation for people that graduated as far back as 21 years, stressing that some are already doing fine, but, I will say something is missing in their academic sojourn. On the part of the management, we want to make sure that the debt for not conducting convocation for our graduates is settled. Hence, we call on graduands in their large number to attend the Convocation Ceremony slated for December 16, 2025. ‘’ VC added.
