Barely three weeks after Oyo State Deputy Governor, Engr Rauf Olaniyan announced his defection from Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) to All Progressives Congress (APC), no fewer than eight members of Oyo State House Assembly (OYHA) and party gladiators have concluded plans to join All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
A serving lawmaker of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) disclosed the development to journalists in Ibadan on Sunday under the condition of anonymity.
According to the lawmaker, majority of the defectors are honourable members who were denied ticket to return as party’s candidates for their constituencies ahead of 2023 general elections.

”It’s sad we will losing them. They have spoken to them. The governor has assured that he would consider them for appointment if he is re-elected but they don’t trust his words. It is so sad,” the lawmaker added.
