Three commissioners in Oyo State, serving in the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde from African Democratic Party (ADC) on Tuesday officially defected to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Over 90 government appointees also joined PDP officially.
Thr trio commissioners were; Hon. Wasiu Olatunbosun heading Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, Hon. Niyi Adebisi heading Ministry of Agriculture and Barrister Nurudeen Ashamu heading Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources.
GOALPOCHER reported the defection was announced at a press conference organized by ADC at an event centre in Bodija, Ibadan
Hon. Wasiu said the defectors comprise of those serving ADC members as social advisers to the office of the Governor, elected chairmen, elected councillors and supervisory councillors.
“Our decision to defect to PDP became necessary to keep the re-election bid of Governor Seyi Makinde in 2023 despite his giant strides in development of various sectors in the state”; Olatunbosun added.
