Oyo State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun has said that nothing less than twelve thousand (12,000) workers in the state will no longer receive their monthly salaries and risk of becoming ghost workers if Governor Seyi Makinde administration didn’t update the data of workers  that were missed out in the exercise earlier.

Dr. Olatunbosun made the clarification while featuring on weekly social-political programme, anchored by Mr. Ajibola Akinyefa  tagged BOSENLO EXTRA on Agidigbo FM in Ibadan.

Dr. Olatunbosun urged the good people of Oyo State to ignore the viral news that the government allegedly mismanaged over N91million meant for production of smart cards for state workers.

“Currently, 5,000 TESCOM teachers, 692 Education Officers among other newly recruited workers across MDAs of the government are updating their data at the MIC”.

The commissioner said Makinde government is poised to deliver above board and have accurate data of workers in the state.

Dr Olatunbosun said the exercise when completed will enable the state to seamless data of entire workers in the state and weed out ghost workers.

He urged doubting Thomases about the data capturing exercise to proceed to Management Information Centre (MIC) beside Governor’s Office and see how workers are being attended to.

He stressed further that any worker that his or her data not capture will not be on State payroll. He noted that it may take years to rectify for any worker who missed the exercise.
