In a significant move towards fostering collaboration and professional growth, the Executive Committee Members of ICAN (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria), Ibadan District, led by the Chairman, Mrs Funmi Omisore FCA, paid a courtesy visit to Dr Joseph Oluyori, the newly appointed Director of Audit, University of Ibadan. The visit on Thursday, 18th December, 2025, marked a pivotal moment in strengthening ties between ICAN Ibadan and the University’s Audit Directorate, with a shared vision of enhancing capacity building and professional development.

Mrs Omisore, leading Team 2025, expressed the district’s delight in meeting Dr Oluyori and appreciated his support for ICAN’s initiatives. She highlighted the importance of collaboration between ICAN Ibadan and ISACA (Information Systems Audit and Control Association) Ibadan Chapter, proposing joint capacity-building programmes that would benefit members in navigating the evolving landscape of finance, technology and audit excellence. “Empowering our members technically is crucial to staying relevant in today’s dynamic world,” she emphasised.

Dr Joseph Oluyori, Vice President of the ISACA Ibadan Chapter, warmly welcomed the ICAN team, pledging ISACA’s full support for the District’s activities. “We will encourage ICAN members working within the university’s audit directorate to actively participate in district programmes and contribute financially”, he said. Dr Oluyori underscored the synergy between ICAN and ISACA, noting, “This partnership will amplify our impact, equipping members with cutting-edge skills in financial oversight, IT governance and risk management.”

The visit concluded with the exchange of souvenirs and a group photograph, symbolising a commitment to shared growth. Both parties left optimistic about deepening their collaboration, leveraging each other’s strengths to uplift professionals and contribute to societal development.

On financial support, ICAN members working in the University of Ibadan’s Audit Directorate have been encouraged to contribute to ICAN Ibadan District’s activities, fostering a sense of ownership and active involvement in the district’s growth.

This partnership between ICAN Ibadan and the ISACA Ibadan Chapter signals a strong commitment to elevating professional standards and empowering members to excel in the evolving financial and IT landscape.
