Oyo State gubernatorial aspirant, Dr Ololade Usman Bakare has joined millions across Nigeria and beyond to celebrate the courage, resilience and invaluable contributions of women to the growth and development in society. Dr Bakare said today’s commemoration serves as a reminder of the remarkable roles women play in different homes, communities, workplace, and in the political and economic advancement of Oyo state and nation at large.
He remarked that women in Oyo State and across Nigeria have continued to demonstrate strength, leadership and commitment in every human endeavour.
“From the markets to the classrooms, from farms to corporate boardrooms, and from community leadership to public service, women have consistently proven to be pillars of progress and stability. Their dedication to family, education, entrepreneurship, and nation-building deserves not only recognition but also greater support and opportunities”.
Dr Bakare re-echoed the need to proffer solutions to multi-faceted challenges facing women from inequality, limited access to opportunities and barriers that hinder their full participation in leadership and decision-making processes. He called for renewal commitment to creating an enabling environment where women and girls can thrive, pursue their dreams and contribute meaningfully to development without discrimination.
