Deputy Gov, Lucky Ayedatiwa and Mr Doyin Odebowale

Doyin Odebowale, Senior Special Assistant on Special Duties to Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has revealed the real reasons why Ondo State House of Assembly commenced impeachment process of Deputy Governor, Mr. Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa.

According to Odebowale in a brief interview he had with TVC News on Wednesday night, hours after the House started Ayedatiwa’s impeachment, Odebowale said the Deputy Governor allegedly approved a purchase of bullet proof SUV worth three hundred million (N300million) with palliative money released by Federal Government to cushion effect of removal of PMS subsidy on vulnerable people in the State.

Odebowale while answering questions on Governor’s position said the rule of law must prevail on the matter, saying House of Assembly should dig more to unravel those involved in diverting money meant for palliative.

He noted that the Deputy Governor, Mr. Ayedatiwa perpetrated the act barely a month two cars were allocated to his office.

FreshPage recalls that Ondo Assembly had on Wednesday began impeachment process of Deputy Governor for gross misconduct in a petition signed by nine (9) and submitted by Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi.

The Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Olamide Oladiji directed the Clerk of the House, Jayeola Benjamin to write Deputy Governor to respond to allegations of gross misconduct and abuse of office leveled against him. Mr. Ayedatiwa is expected to respond to all allegations leveled against him within seven (7) days.
