In a significant move towards fostering development and progress in Ibadanland, The Progressive Forum, Ibadan (TPFI) recently paid a courtesy call on the President-General of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), Chief Barrister Ajeniyi Ajewole, at his Ibadan House office, Oke Aremo, Ibadan, in a release by the Secretary of TPFI, Prince Kola Amoo Adelakin.
Led by its newly elected Chairman, Mr Tunji Muhammed Oladejo, mnipr, JP, the TPFI delegation outlined its vision for Ibadanland’s growth, emphasising collaboration with CCII and other stakeholders. Oladejo, who was “head-hunted” for the leadership position, expressed the Forum’s commitment to complementing CCII’s efforts, leveraging its diverse membership of over 300 Ibadan indigenes across Nigeria, and beyond.
“We are not a rival group, but a body formed to complement CCII’s activities for sustainable growth in Ibadanland,” Oladejo assured, highlighting TPFI’s focus areas: intellectual discourse, sustainable development, equity and prosperity. The Forum aims to drive progress in areas such as infrastructure, education, security, healthcare, and entrepreneurship, aligning with the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Arusa 1’s agenda.

In response, CCII’s President-General, Barrister Ajewole, welcomed TPFI’s initiatives, expressing confidence in the Forum’s potential to contribute to Ibadanland’s development. “I align myself and CCII with your activities,” he said, acknowledging his own connection to the Forum.
The visit marked a significant step towards harnessing collective efforts for Ibadanland’s progress. As TPFI and CCII join forces, residents can expect inclusive discourse, innovative solutions and impactful initiatives addressing the city’s multifaceted challenges.
With its operational ethos centered on ethics, equity and justice, TPFI is poised to be a catalyst for positive change. As Oladejo emphasised, “Ibadanland’s progress is our shared responsibility.” The Forum’s bold initiatives and CCII’s support signal a new era of collaboration, promising a brighter future for Ibadanland.
