The newly appointed Acting Rector of The Polytechnic Ibadan, Dr Taiwo Abideen Lasisi has resumed office with a call for cooperation from students, staff and other stakeholders in the institution.
The new helmsman resumed to a rousing welcome and overwhelming ovation by members of staff who joined him from the institution’s main entrance to the Central Administration Building that houses the office of the Rector and other members or management. He appreciated members of staff for their warm reception and declaration of support.

Dr Lasisi appreciated the Governor for finding him worthy and thanked the members of the community for their warm reception. He recalled that he wouldn’t have become who he is today, but for the grooming he got from the institution.
The new Rector was joined by Directors and Deans, led by Dr B.O. Oseni, the Chairman, Committee of Deans to receive members of staff, student leaders and other stakeholders who gladly welcomed him and pledged to join hands with him to take the institution into greater heights.
To demonstrate his focus on the welfare of members of staff, the Acting Rector directed the immediate payment of March salaries to members of staff, in line with the commitment of the government of Governor Seyi Makinde to the welfare of workers within the state. He also promised to resolve the problem of electricity bedevilling the institution.
Many former colleagues of the new Rector lauded Lasisi as a man of courage, strong character with a knack for effectiveness and transformation. They expressed their confidence in his capacity to turn around the fortunes of the institution for good.
