Governor Oyetola made the statement yesterday while while addressing at the APC national headquarters, Abuja after his brief meeting the APC National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore who is also from Osun State.

Oyetola assured everyone that he would deliver the state to his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the 2023 general election.

FreshPage recalls that governor Oyetola lost the July 16, 2022 governorship election to the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senator Ademola Adeleke.

The PDP candidate polled 403,371 votes while the governor scored 372,257.

Dissatisfied by the outcome of the election, Oyetola approached the election tribunal and called for the cancellation of the poll for alleged over-voting and by-passing of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), among other alleged electoral frauds.

When asked about his fears about the ongoing petition at the Osun State Governorship Election Tribunal, Oyetola said: “I don’t have any fear. I have fate in Almighty God. I will reclaim my mandate by the grace of God.”

On the 2023 presidential election, the Osun State governor said the state was prepared to deliver for the APC Presidential candidate come February 25 next year by a very wide margin.

He said: “We have started the campaign. Sometimes last week, we had a solidarity work throughout the state. We covered 11 kilometres. The turnout was so massive.

“Osun has always been a state for the progressive. So, there is nothing to worry about. I can assure you, we will deliver nothing less than 1 million votes for Asiwaju.”
